Adirondack Storytellers -- a WMHT-TV Production

Since time began, people throughout the world have passed stories down from one generation to the next. Adirondack Storytellers, a new WMHT production, spotlights men and women who are not only keeping old regional stories alive, but adding new stories to the repertoire.

From Jim Bruchac  and his father Joseph, tradition bearers of the Abenaki, to Fran Yardley, who has presented her Adirondack-inspired stories at the National Storytelling Conference, numerous storytellers reveal the intricacies of their craft, weaving fairy tales, legends, anecdotes and tall tales from the experiences of women and men among the Abenaki, French-Canadians, lumberjacks and mountaineers.

First broadcast on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, 8:45 pm - 10:30 pm.
